CAM (computer aided manufacture) is now a vital and integral part of all our manufacturing process at Sirch. The CAM data produced from our CAD design process is of the highest integrity. Using DXF files from this data our skilled CNC machinists carry out 2D CAM programming on the CNC Machines . Working from the same 3D models created by the press tool designers 3D programs are produced on Visi CAM* , speeds, feeds and cutter paths are calculated. The machine tool program is then sent to the machine directly over a high speed ethernet link, job setting procedures follow and the machine is ready for production.

The largest of our CNC milling centres has a machining envelope of 2000x800x800mm with max job weight of 3500kg. Along with three other Hurco vmc's we are able to cope with very large die sets and plates. Two smaller high speed Hurco milling centres provide capacity for full 3D profiling and smaller part production. We constantly monitor and utilise the latest developent in cutting tool technology allowing us to efficiently hard mill materials up to 64rc.This can substantially decrease lead times and increase accuracy ensuring we are able to achieve the fastest metal removal rates .Our continual investment in this department ensures we deliver a high standard of quality whilst remaining cost effective to our customers.

*VISI is acknowledged as one of the world's leading PC based CAD CAM software solutions for the Mould & Die industries. It offers a unique combination of applications, integrated wireframe, surface and solid modelling, comprehensive 2D, 3D and 5-axis machining strategies with dedicated high speed routines.
